Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.
Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.
Make it dynamic, freeHow to make a logo QR code that still scans
- Keep the logo small. We place it in the center at 20% of the width. Bigger logos remove too much of the pattern.
- Keep the code dark. Brand colors are fine for the code itself if they are dark enough. A light code on a dark background fails on many phones.
- Leave the quiet zone. The empty border around the code helps cameras find it. Do not crop it off in your design.
- Use SVG for print. It stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for screens, email and documents.
- Test before printing. Scan it with two different phones, at the size it will be printed.
A static code holds the link directly. If you might change the link later, or want to see how many people scan it, make it a dynamic code instead. Plus includes logo and colors on up to 25 dynamic codes.
Logo QR code questions
Will a logo stop my QR code from scanning?
Not at the size we use. QR codes have built-in error correction. When you add a logo we switch to the highest level, which lets about 30% of the code be covered, and the logo takes up about 20% of the width.
What logo file works best?
A square-ish PNG with a transparent background, or an SVG. Simple marks work better than wide wordmarks.
Is it really free?
Yes. Static codes with logos are free and unlimited with no account. You only pay if you want a dynamic code with your logo that you can edit and track.
