QR code for a flyer

Flyers are cheap to print and impossible to recall. If the link on a thousand flyers has a typo or the landing page moves, you find out after they are taped up around town.

A dynamic code gives you a second chance. The flyer points to your ScanStill link and you can change the destination at any time, so a broken page is a two-minute fix, not a reprint.

It also answers the question every flyer campaign has: did anyone look at these? Print a few versions with different codes, one for the gym board, one for the cafe, one for the door hangers, and compare scan counts after a week.

Print tips

  • Do not put the code at the very bottom edge. Flyers get pinned and the bottom often curls or gets covered.
  • 3 cm (1.2 in) wide is a good minimum for a letter or A4 flyer read at arm's length.
  • Tell people what they get: "Scan for 10% off your first class" beats a bare code.

The logo covers the center 20% and we switch to the highest error correction so the code still scans.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.

Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.

QR codes for flyers: questions

Can I fix a wrong link after the flyers are printed?

Yes, if you used a dynamic code. Change the destination and every printed flyer follows.

How do I know which flyer location works best?

Give each batch its own dynamic code and compare scan counts in your dashboard.

Does the QR code need to be black and white?

No, but it needs strong contrast with a darker code on a lighter background. Avoid light codes on dark backgrounds.
