Terms of service
Last updated October 2026
These terms cover your use of ScanStill. We kept them short. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.
The service
ScanStill makes static QR codes, which contain your content directly, and dynamic QR codes, which point to a short ScanStill link that redirects to a destination you choose.
Accounts
You log in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure. One person or business per account.
Plans and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page.
- You can cancel anytime from Billing. Your plan runs to the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: within 30 days of any payment, ask and we refund it in full, no questions asked.
- We will give at least 30 days notice by email before changing the price of a plan you are on.
What happens to your codes
- Static codes do not depend on us and keep working forever.
- The dynamic code included with a free account does not expire.
- If a paid plan ends or you move to a smaller plan, codes over your new limit keep redirecting for 30 days, then show a paused page until you upgrade again. Your oldest codes stay active up to your plan's limit.
- If ScanStill ever shuts down, we will give at least 12 months notice, provide a full export of your codes and destinations, and offer a way to hand your redirects to another host.
Acceptable use
Do not use ScanStill to point people to phishing, malware, scams, illegal content, or anything designed to deceive the person scanning. We can disable a code that breaks this rule, and close accounts that do it repeatedly. Anyone can report a code at /report.
Liability
We work hard to keep redirects fast and available, but the service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.
