QR code for a vCard contact
A vCard QR code holds a full contact card: name, company, title, phone, email and website. Scan it and the phone offers to save it as a new contact, no typing, no misspelled email addresses.
Because the details are written into the code itself, a vCard code works without internet and without any service in the middle. That is a strength and a limit. It is perfect for name badges, conference lanyards and the back of a business card. It cannot be edited after printing, so when your number changes, make a new one.
If you want something you can update, use a dynamic code that points to a contact page on your website instead. You lose the one-tap save, but gain a link you can change forever.
Print tips
- Use international phone format, like +1 520 555 0100, so it works for contacts abroad.
- Skip fields you do not need. Fewer fields means a simpler code that scans from further away.
- Test it on both an iPhone and an Android phone before printing a batch.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.
Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.
