QR code for a business card

A business card has room for maybe ten lines of text. A QR code turns that small space into a full contact card, a booking page or a portfolio, and saves the other person from typing your email address with their thumbs.

You have two good options. A contact (vCard) code saves your name, phone and email straight into their address book with one tap. A link code opens a page you control, such as a personal site or booking link. The vCard is baked into the printed pattern, so if your number changes, the card is out of date. A dynamic link code can be updated after you hand out 500 cards.

If you change jobs or titles often, a dynamic code pointing to a simple contact page is the safer bet.

Print tips

  • Print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide. Smaller than that and older phones struggle.
  • Keep a clear white border around the code, at least the width of two of its squares.
  • Put it on the back of the card so it does not crowd your name and logo.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.

Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.

QR codes for business cards: questions

Should I use a vCard code or a link?

A vCard code saves contact details instantly and works offline, but cannot be changed after printing. A dynamic link can be updated anytime. Pick vCard if your details are stable, a dynamic link if they are not.

How much contact info can a vCard code hold?

Plenty for a name, company, title, phone, email and website. The more you add, the denser the pattern gets, so print it a little larger if you include everything.

Can I add my logo to the code?

Yes. Our generator places your logo in the center and raises error correction so the code still scans.
