QR code for a real estate sign

A for-sale sign is expensive, sturdy and meant to be reused. A QR code printed on it should be reusable too. With a static code linked to one listing, the sign rider is useless the day the house sells.

Put a dynamic code on the rider instead. While the home is listed, it opens the listing page or virtual tour. When it goes under contract, repoint it to your other active listings or your contact page. Move the sign to the next property and change the link again. One rider, many listings.

Scan counts give you something sellers care about: proof of drive-by interest. Pair it with the daily chart on a paid plan and you can show a seller that the weekend open house sign actually got scanned.

Print tips

  • People scan from the sidewalk or a car window. Make the code at least 15 cm (6 in) wide on a sign rider.
  • Use dark code on a white panel. Brand colors in the code itself cost you scanning distance.
  • Weatherproof vinyl lasts. Paper inserts fade in a few weeks of sun.

The logo covers the center 20% and we switch to the highest error correction so the code still scans.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.

Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.

QR codes for real estate signs: questions

Can I move a sign to a new listing without reprinting?

Yes. That is the main reason to use a dynamic code on signs. Change the destination in your dashboard and the sign now opens the new listing.

How big should the code be on a yard sign?

At least 15 cm (6 in) for scanning from the sidewalk. Bigger is better if people will be in a car.

Can I track scans per property?

Give each sign rider its own code and you get a separate scan count for each one. Plus includes 25 codes.
