QR code for church giving

Fewer people carry cash or checkbooks, and a QR code in the bulletin, on the screen during the offering, or on pew cards makes online giving easy for anyone with a phone.

Churches change giving platforms more often than you might expect, usually for lower fees or better reporting. If your pew cards and wall signs carry a static code linked to the old platform, every one of them has to be replaced. With a dynamic code, the treasurer updates one link and every printed card follows.

Link to the giving page itself, not your home page. Every extra tap loses people. If you have several funds, such as general giving, missions and building, link to a page that shows them clearly, or make a separate code for each.

Print tips

  • Show the code on screen long enough to scan: at least 20 seconds, and large.
  • Print the plain web address too, for members who would rather type it.
  • Test the giving page on a phone before Sunday. Some giving forms are hard to use on small screens.

The logo covers the center 20% and we switch to the highest error correction so the code still scans.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.

Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.

QR codes for church giving: questions

What if we switch giving platforms?

Change the destination of the dynamic code to the new giving page. All printed bulletins, cards and signs keep working.

Does ScanStill handle donations?

No. The code simply opens your existing giving page. Payments go straight to your giving platform.

Can we track how many people scanned during a service?

Yes. Dynamic codes count every scan, and paid plans show scans by day, so you can see Sunday spikes.
