QR code for Wi-Fi
Nobody likes reading a 16 character password off a chalkboard. A Wi-Fi QR code lets guests point their camera at it and join the network with one tap. Phones on iOS 11 and later and most Android versions handle this natively.
A Wi-Fi code is a static code by nature. The network name and password are written into the pattern itself, so the phone does not need internet access to read it, which is the whole point. That also means if you change the password, you need a new code. Our generator makes those for free with no account, so reprinting a small sign costs you a minute.
Your password never leaves your browser. The code is drawn on your device and nothing is sent to our servers.
Print tips
- Use a guest network if your router supports one, and keep your main network private.
- Put the network name in plain text under the code for people who prefer to type.
- Rental hosts: frame it near the door or put it in the welcome binder, not on the fridge where it gets splashed.

Static code. Free, unlimited, never expires. The content is baked into the pattern.
Going to print? A dynamic code lets you count scans and change the link later without reprinting.
Make it dynamic, freeQR codes for wi-fi access: questions
Can a Wi-Fi QR code be dynamic?
Not usefully. The phone needs the password before it has internet, so the details have to live in the code itself. When you change the password, make a new free static code.
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
Anyone who can scan the code can join, the same as anyone who can read a printed password. Use a guest network and only display it where you would display the password.
Does it work on hidden networks?
Yes. Tick the hidden network box and the code includes that flag so phones know to look for it.
